A night at the races
Last night I went to the Races at Moonee Valley. For those who love the Melbourne Cup, they hold the Cox Plate race at Moonee Valley. It was a family night where the races were on, food vans were there, & kids were everywhere. There were lush green grass areas for the kids to run all night. No complaints about pokey spaces, & lets be honest who doesn't love to see them run wild & crash & burn in time for bed? We went along with two other families & had an absolute ball. I admit to having absolutely no real understanding or interest in horse racing, I tagged along purely for the quality time spent with my friends. When I am asked to pick a winner it's all based on the horses name, the number 8, or the colour of the jockeys outfit. They noise of the horses is unbelievable when they leave the gates, so much thumping of hooves & energy from the horses. The kids were in absolute awe. A wonderful experience for them. Although the roses have seen better days, there were still some in full bloom & showing off their gorgeous colour pink. They were few & far between, as we are now well into the coolness of autumn. Just memories of what their true potential was last spring/ What's a pre Easter even without the presence of the Easter Bunny. There is Charlotte with her friends, right behind the bunny, & I recall her squeezing his tail. After a long night, & getting the kids to bed by midnight, Good Friday for us has become a lazy day & just hanging out together. Hubby has booked tickets for us tonight to see Batman versus Superman, so it will be a great way to end a lazy day. Have a wonderful aster break.
